Description:

This presentation will review various aspects of building performance and best practices in certified passive buildings across North America. Typical ranges of envelope details and performance specifications will be reviewed, with exemplary details highlighted. Best practices in mechanical system selection and sizing will also be discussed. This presentation is broken down in a climate zone specific format, so that teams working all across North America can understand what functions best in their respective climate. Buildings ranging from single family, to larger multifamily, to non-residential projects will be discussed. The presenters will detail resources available to professionals working in the passive building sphere to reference, and provide a few useful rules of thumb and checksums.
